KADEN HONEYCUTT TEAMS WITH NELSON MOTORSPORTS FOR CARS TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP RUN

Martinsville, VA – Texas racer Kaden Honeycutt has been signed by Nelson Motorsports to a full-season deal that will pair him for a CARS Tour championship run with the driver who beat him by 13 points for the 2021 championship in the series, Bobby McCarty in a two-car effort to chase the series title in 2022.

Honeycutt, the 2021 series rookie of the year, will be driving the No. 12 for team owner Barry Nelson, who says he was looking to expand their operation for the 2022 season.  “ We’re happy to announce Kaden Honeycutt will be driving for us this season. His slate of races will include the full Cars Tour schedule plus some other high-profile events. We were ready to expand to two full-time cars and Kaden proved he is a championship-caliber driver in this division last year.  With Kaden and Bobby this season, there is a lot of pressure on our team to produce winning cars and I have no doubt we’ll deliver. All of us at Nelson Motorsports are looking for our fourth Championship and third Virginia Triple Crown. With the combination of Bobby, Kaden, and our team, we believe we have the necessary ingredients to achieve those goals this year.”

From the driver’s point of view, this opportunity was simply too good to pass up.  “I am very excited to have the opportunity to race for Mr. Nelson this year and to have Bobby as a teammate. The team’s goal is another championship and more wins, and I am ready to jump in and help them make sure those things happen. Mr. Nelson has assembled a top-notch team full of smart, professional people. I’ve already been to the shop and am in touch with them regularly to help build that relationship, which I believe will be a huge advantage when it comes time to test and race. A lot of people had to come together for this to happen and I want to say a huge thank you to my Mom and Dad, Barry Nelson, Dennis Murphy with Friends of Jaclyn, Kirk Ipock with Solid Rock Carriers, Rod Wortham with Race Face Brand Development and all of my fans for their support. I am truly blessed and grateful for this opportunity and I am ready to make the most of it beginning with our first CARS Tour race at Caraway Speedway in March.”

The first race for Kaden with Nelson Motorsports will be the CARS Tour season-opening event at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, N.C. on March 4 and 5.  For more information about the CARS Tour, visit www.carsracingtour.comFor more information about Kaden, visit www.kadenhoneycuttracing.com.
